I saw this picture while cleaning up my folder of unsorted files. It’s turning into a hobby gahhh hahaha a clutter-y desktop makes me feel so unorganized that I couldn’t start any homework/paper/digest if it were a mess. Weird. ANYWAY la la la.
This emotional looking birdcage was hanging in a pretty tree with pink flowers along a sidewalk in Aberdeen (southern part of HK Island). At that moment, I kept wondering who placed it there and more importantly why. Oh ang emo diba hahaha cause it really was in the middle of nowhere hahaha I looked around and none of the handful of passers-by seem to own it. It’s like the little sister of seeing a brand new blender on top of a dainty table in the middle of SLEX :)) Whatever.
Don’t get me wrong, I love this picture (malamang cause I shot it and dapat love your own right haha) but I just find it so emotional that staring at it could give one the “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy falling whale” syndrome.
Remember? It’s the whale called into existence by some alien life form, randomly falling into the earth as he ecstatically screamed “Ahhh! Woooh! What’s happening? Who am I? Why am I here? What’s my purpose in life? What do I mean by who am I? Okay okay, calm down calm down get a grip now.” - Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, H2G2: Yes, I am in love with that movie.
Five little things:
1) When I shot it, it was such a movie-like scene it was annoyingly cliché
2) So many stuff can be drawn out of this picture, kung nababaliw ka na or you’re bored or you feel poetic or what > Illusion of freedom? Pwede? :))
3) Leaves and pink petals were falling off from the trees and the weather was perfect /wrist :))
4) If only 19th century foreigners got it right, we’d be calling Hong Kong “Aberdeen” today. Foreigners landing near Aberdeen mistook “HK” for the whole island and by the time they realized their mistake, HK was already commonly used. Oh well, see the streak of randomness.
5) Good night! I have to fix up now, I might be late for dinner! Catch you guys again soon xx
Guess who got too excited with her new lens :D YES, I chose glass over shopping. I think I always will anyway :)) Besides, winter was about to start in HK and the collection in most stores were mostly warmers - a bunch of cute clothes I’d buy if only they weren’t useless in the Philippines since according to a local I got to chat with, we only have two seasons: hot and very hot! HAHA ang corny kakapikon :))
I’m no pro, I just snap whatever interests me at the moment, it’s a bonus if it actually moves me. It’s those moments I’d like to remember (for as long as my hard-drive will live) and maybe eventually in the grand scheme of things, wish to forget. There’s always that risk but it’s best to take the beauty of the moment anyway (Everything Is Illuminated vibe pala hahaha!)

When I was a kid I always preferred images over text #DontJudgeMeIKnowYouDidToo :)) I like photos cause they speak for themselves and maybe because I’m not as verbose as I should be, but I have law school to train me for that so yeah make that a ‘not yet’ then haha.
Plus, it gets fun when a photo is looked into and not merely looked at. A single photo can remind me of so many things and maybe if I get lucky enough to take a good one, it could actually tell a story worthy of attention from others :) SECRET HAPPY MABABAW MOMENT: When people use my photos for their Facebook profile pictures #YourCriticismHereIsImmaterial :))

I’ve always been a home-buddy but I love going around places and seeking new adventures. We learn something from every person we’ve ever met and traveling breathes new life into us - there’s so much truth in this! True, nothing beats what the eye can see, but it’s just so fun seeing things from a viewfinder. It lets you focus on the little details usually overlooked, it gives some sort of new perspective on things.

Some random off topic: Personally I think it’s better to visit HK in December, apart from it being more festive, the weather isn’t as weird as November. It was a bit humid during the day and it was cool enough at night - perfect weather for a bad hair day HAHA -_- But November is a good time for shoppers who would want to catch the pre-holiday sale :) Have a good day! I’ll update again when I have the time! Take care everyone xx

Tadah an update! Just because I couldn’t delay a Christmas post to some other time (don’t push it, I already know I’m late). Hong Kong (香港 PRC) literally meaning ‘fragrant harbor’ in English is almost as clean as Singapore! Plus, Christmas celebrations or decorations were no different than ours; though I must say I was really looking forward to seeing some sort of gigantic yet peculiar and amusing yuletide ornament. Well, I did see a gigantic Chupa Chups dispenser.. that has nothing to do with Christmas, but still, they were too pretty to ignore.

As Gino would say referring to the picture below, what happens when it turns November? :P I loved their street stores, its seems as though its always a bargain waiting to happen!

And hello, hello kitty the dancing speaker! Imagine a bunch of them dancing and singing in chorus around your bed, ugh, reminds me of dolly dearest.. or worse, the teletubbies.

Since my little cousins (who don’t look little cause they’re insanely taller than I am, save one) were sick of seeing a dancing mouse and his friends, we drove off one day in the land of the chubby sea lion who loves to wave at his dancing sea creature buddies. Amusing, scenic, and freezing cold. Feels good to run around with my cousins once in a while, it reminds me how naughty I used to be as a child.

Yes, I am about to massacre this article by brutally ending it with off topic sentences. We spent Christmas Eve in the hotel lobby, merrymaking while waiting for balloons to fall off the ceiling. Baduy-ly dancing off with random strangers in a single line and eventually dozing off to 2701! Cheers to 2011! My resolutions? Stay nice, study hard, and EAT as much as I can! I am gonna gain weight. I am gonna gain weight. I will not be obese, I will not grow a balloon on my tummy. But I will eat and gain weight! :)
